About Angelo Peluso

The outdoors has been a significant part of my life. I've been an avid fisherman for nearly 45 years- most as a fly fisherman and light tackle angler in both freshwater and saltwater. The art of angling is my first and deepest passion. In the off-season, I have been an avid bow hunter for whitetail deer and a water fowler. For much of my life, I balanced my love of the outdoors with a fulfilling career in financial services. Since moving on from a principal business career I now pursue my passion for writing about the outdoors on a full time basis. I'm a frequent contributor to various local, regional and national magazines, and I am a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America, the New York State Outdoor Writers Association and the Professional Outdoor Media Association.

Over the years, my angling pursuits have taken me on many adventures across this great country of ours; they've taken me abroad as well. I've especially enjoyed fishing the entire Northeast Coast for striped bass, from the waters of New Jersey to coastal and interior areas of Maine, and the wilderness regions of Alaska for silver salmon and native rainbow trout. I also regularly fly fish for trout, salmon, largemouth and small mouth bass and travel frequently to fly fish. Alaska is a particularly favorite destination - it is a spiritual home for me - its pristine wilderness, its beauty and the exceptional fly fishing it offers are compelling reasons to return again and again. Some of my other favorite destinations are Florida, the Yucatan, Bahamas, the American West, the entire Northeast and Canada. I now call the Long Island Sound home and spend much of my time on my boat or wandering the beaches fly-fishing for striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, false albacore and bonito.

As you peruse the site, you'll find an assortment of books, writings, selected photographs and art, flies and sporting collectibles. Some are purely for your viewing and reading pleasure; other selections are available for acquisition. You'll see, too, information about my consulting capabilities, which are a unique blend of outdoor and business experiences. I think you'll find these services to be relevant in most any industry. Last, you'll see my speaking and lecture information, which includes presentations on topics relating to the outdoors, most notably fly fishing.

I hope you enjoy the offerings. Please check back often to see what's new as the site continues to grow and new items are added. Stay well, keep casting and tight lines.
